Wills and Probate

Wills

Making a Will is very important for a number of reasons. We draft Wills to the particular requirements of the client, taking into consideration their financial position and the incidence of taxation, in particular, inheritance tax.

Probate

The relatives of the deceased will want to be confident that the Estate will be administered efficiently. The administration of an Estate involves obtaining valuations of all the assets of the estate, agreeing tax liability and applying for the Grant of Probate (or Letters of Administration where there is no Will).

Lasting Power of Attorney

It is also important to think ahead to when relatives and friends may not be able to manage their affairs. A Lasting Power of Attorney is the legal document which permits one person to give another person/s the legal right to take decisions in respect of their financial affairs and/or their health and personal welfare. We can prepare Lasting Powers of Attorney if appropriate and register them at the Office of the Public Guardian for a competitive fee.
